The ecology park, which aims to promote “harmony with nature",together with the nearby Tsushima shrine forest,is maintained as a place in which people can interact with the natural world around them, and to conserve and restore the ever vanishing natural environment. The Tsushima shrine forest is one with a long history of cultivating plants and trees, including a 200 year old white oak and as many as 100 different species of vegetation, and it is thought that its formation stretched over a period of more than 250 years. It is one of the foremost precious natural spots in Iwakura City.Inside the park, there are streams, ponds and marshes,as well as a grass-roofed insect house,a wooden tower which serves as a bird house, and so on.Please come and see it some day!

The earthen remains at this site, designated by Aichi prefecture as a historic spot, date back to the Yayoi period,as long as 2000 years ago.Among these ruins were discovered the remains of a pit dwelling and a kind of wide-mouthed pot which is rare all over Japan,The pit dwelling has been restored and the “toriidateminka"(a house with a “torii" or sacred gate) has been reconstructed on a different site,so that the park might serve as a place for studying history and for recreation.
