Do you know about Nobunaga Oda,who aimed to unite the whole country during a period of civil war? His ancestors,the Oda family,were the lords of Iwakura castle.
The Oda family were strongly opposed to the division of Kiyosu and Iwakura in 1478. Violent fighting continued to spread,but Iwakura gained control of the northern part of Owari. After that,in 1555,Nobunaga Oda became the lord of Kiyosu Castle. At this time,the lords of Iwakura Castle were Nobuyasu Oda and Nobukata Oda,who were opposed to Nobunaga.In 1559,Nobunaga captured Iwakura Castle and achieved the unity of the Owari region.
As for the structure of the castle,according to old documents,there was a double moat which measured about 90m from east to west and 170m from north to south,and it is said that there was a mansion and a watchtower.
